WEEK 13

In class writing.

FIRST

With a partner, take 45 minutes to compose together a response, in Google Docs, to the following:
Develop a course plan for an activity using one software application (Twitter, Facebook,  Prezi, texting, blogs, etc.) in a first-year writing class at UWM. In your course plan list the goals for the activity (drawing from the goals of 101), describe the actual activity and any reflective component, and describe how you would evaluate the activity. Also describe why you think such an activity matters more broadly in a first-year writing class, giving justifications and explanations that draw on course readings. (You do not have to quote course readings exactly—although you can easily access all the readings through Dropbox—but do reference readings whose arguments persuaded you about using digital technologies in writing classes and/or about relations between digital technologies and what counts as writing.)

SECOND

With a different partner, take 45 minutes to compose together a response, in Google Docs, to the following:
What are our responsibilities now to students in writing classes? That is, what do you think students need to know or be able to do or compose when they finish a first-year composition class? Draw across the range of readings and our discussions for the semester to justify your response.

Thanks!
